My third struggle – the numbers on the scale.

For the first four months, I obsessed about the numbers on the scale. It came to a point where every day I would check my weight. Sometimes I would get a number I liked. Other times, it fluctuates to 5 lbs or more. When that happens, I’d feel disappointed, and I just want to give up. I remember, six months into my journey, I lost about 45-50 lbs already and noticed the numbers on the scale wasn’t moving. Even though I lost a lot of weight, I still wasn’t happy. I’ve been the same weight for almost two months because that’s what the “scale” tells me. They call this your plateau weight.

Were not listening to our bodies anymore were relying on numbers to tell us how we feel. I’ve learned that was a huge mistake. It’s nice at times to see where we are on the scale, but we shouldn’t rely on numbers to tell us were beautiful or average.

“Your best weight is whatever weight you reach when you’re living the healthiest life you can honestly enjoy.”

My last struggle – finding the time to stay in shape.

We’ve all used this reason, “Oh, I don’t have time to run, or go to the gym.”

But is it because we don’t have the time or we don’t put time?

13895228_1667284683592644_5252026919200374872_nThe time to work out and get myself active is a struggle, I’m not going to lie. I’m a full-time student. I’m a single mother, and I also work. I’m drained and tired after a long day. I remember, every day I would complain how tired I was and how much work I had to do. I complained over and over that I still have to this and do that. I got homework, have to feed my kids. They’re crying. I haven’t slept yet.. All those were just my excuse to not put time in for my health. How did I deal this problem? When I knew I had a long day ahead of me and can’t get 30 minutes of staying active, anything that I did moving around the house I used as my cardio exercise, pretty much multitasking and staying active doing mommy chores.

Today, I am sharing my obstacles and bumps that dragged me down to the point where I felt like giving up was the only solution. I’m proud to say I came this far to live the life I always wanted for myself, and that’s not just looking good physically but feeling good about myself mentally.

I lost many people in the process of trying to find myself but I didn’t lose them because I felt better but I choose to forget who they were because all they wanted was to make me feel bad. I don’t regret my struggles, but I’m thankful to have stumbled across it.
